Which brtools version are you using?

Also, check the following notes:

Hello,

From note [1388235|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1388235]:

2. Use the new BR*Tools functions that were implemented as a replacement for the MKS tape tools (parameter compress = brtools).

For more information, see Note [1173119|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1173119].

Update your Brtools as per note [12741|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/12741].

Eduardo

hi Eduardo

the current BRTOOLS version is BR0651I BRTOOLS 7.00 (44). I download some BRTOOLS 700 with 52. when i did extract then got following files.

BRfiles (archive,backup,connect,recover,space,tools)

dbatoolsora.lst

dbatoolsora.mf

initSID.sap

libsbt.dll

sapconn_role.sql

sapdba_role.sql

for brtools, I just replace the BRfiles in kernel directory and change the compress=brtools in initSID.sap file or first i have to upgrade the brtools version from 700 to 710.

what's purpose of remaining extracted files?

Hello,

As we can see on note 1173119:

This is added in BR*Tools 7.10 patch 12.

The enhanced functions are provided in BR*Tools 7.20 patch 0.

For more information about downloading patches, see Notes 12741 and 19466.

Update your Brtools at least to 710, I'd advise for you to go to 720.

The other files are needed to complete the necessary configurations.

Eduardo

Hello,

The BR*Tools version is linked to the Oracle your system is using and not the kernel itself. We can see the following in note [12741|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/12741]:

The BR*Tools 7.00/7.10 can be used for all SAP releases that run with an Oracle 10g database, or an Oracle 9.2 database after installing the Oracle Instant Client 10g on the Oracle 9.2 database server. For more information, see Note [849483|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/849483].

The BR*Tools 7.20 can be used with all SAP releases that run with an Oracle 10g or 11g.

BR*Tools 7.00, 7.10, and 7.20 can be used without any restrictions for non-ABAP stack SAP systems (for example, pure J2EE systems, portals, MDM, requisite, and so on). Since some control tables may not exist in non-ABAP stack systems, also see Notes [320457|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/320457] and [892294|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/892294].

Regards,

Eduardo
