IDM7.2 : how to de-install JVM1.6 to be able to install JVM1.5

Hello,

I installed IDM7.2 under Windows/SqlServer2008.

I installed JVM1.6 but, as the PAM doesn't support JVM 1.6, would like to install JVM 1.5.

How unstall JVM 1.6 or chage it with JVM 1.5 ?

When using JSPM, I can't see the version JVM 1.5 ; apparently as it is an older version than 1.6 it doesn' permit to go in 1.5.

I tried manually to change JVM1.6 to JVM 1.5 (touching profile files in SYS\profile as well as Windows env variables).

=> the Java AS wouldn't start anymore.

I checked in the work directory the files : jstart.JVM, bootstrap.JVM, dev_jstart, etc.

The error message was : ERROR => Node 'bootstrap' failed with exit code 500.

The relevant note (1316652) doesn't help and the bootstrap-ALL of sdn indicates : Exit code 500 (Message: Unknown exception. For more information, check the bootstrap logs).

I wiped out all my changes to go back to the JVM 1.6 and I was able to restart the AS JAVA but back in JVM 1.6.

Please, can someone tell me how to go from JVM 1.6 to JVM 1.5 ?

Regards,

Hi Thierry

I doubt you have to go back to 1.5 on your AS Java.

The IdM UI (the SCA-File) should have the same requirements as the AS Java it runs on, so 1.6 should be fine here.

For IdM Run- & Designtime components you can set the Java-version to use (the path to java.exe) in the relevant configuration, simply install/extract the additional JVM.
