PI 7.30 Cannot connect to server using message server:

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I know this issue had been posted here but I'd like to open this for PI 7.30. I already have configured the wizard to complete the final configuration specific for PI but upon opening ESR and ESB, I encounter this error:

"Cannot connect to message server using message server: ms://FQDN:8104/P4"

"Cannot connect to message server using message server: ms://FQDN:5<SID>04/P4"

Things I've considered relevant before posting this topic:

- FQDN is already defined:

- All are functional except for ESR and ESB

- Host is already defined and the system can be opened only on client's network (Using Citrix).

- Redefine both P4 ports as 8104 and 5<SID>04, but still no luck and restarted both stack (Java+ABAP), still no luck.

- checked with my BASIS colleague, both P4 ports are open.

Any more ideas how to resolve the issue?

Cheers,

R-jay

Hi,

Good to hear that you have checked http://<host>:5nn00/exchangeProfile/ >Connections> and maintained parameter as suggested.

Either you maintain correct value in these parameters or remove them so that global parameter are in effect.

Thanks,

Ashutosh.

HI,

You can goto http://<host>:5nn00/exchangeProfile/ >Connections> and maintain correct value of parameter such as com.sap.aii.connect.directory.rmiport

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.httpport

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.httpsport

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshost

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshttpport

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshttpsport

Match them with SMICM parameter values. Then restart your instance and you should be good.

Hi Ashutosh,

Thanks for your response.

For the connection parameters below, everything is defined base on SMICM.

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.rmiport - 5<SID>04

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.httpport - 5 <SID>00

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.httpsport - not using https

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshost - FQDN defined

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshttpport - not sure about this if its 8104 or 5<SID>04 and where to refer this.

com.sap.aii.connect.directory.mshttpsport - not using https

I dont think it is a PI issue, request your network team to open necessary ports.
