File browsing UI

Hi all

what is the best way to build a Ui with a "Browse" button which will open the local file system for browsing and selecting a file.

We are using CE 7.2

Once selected it has to be copied to a server for which we have written a service.

please let us know the ideal way and for copying also if there is anyalterantive,

Attachements feature is available in VC using Web Dynpro. The application PBF which uses VC CE 7.1 comes with this component. It is simply a grad and drop component. It allows to browse for .doc,.xml,.pdf and in the portal we configure few settings for creating a folder for storing the files based on user id (It uses KM )

Hi Lavanya,

sounds difficult to me. If it wouldn't be 7.20 I would suggest to embed a KM iView with a browse dialog. But as 7.20 has no KM installation this is not possible for you.

I'm afraid you will need to write your own WebDynpro browse dialog (maybe in some framework there is some rudimentary dialog). There is no standard functionality for this in VC.
