FTP:Timeout

Hello All,

We are getting below Error in FTP connection.we tried to set timeout and poolwaitingtime but that did not work.

Please let me know if anybody faces this issue and know the reason.

Error:

Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: ConnectException: A remote host did not respond within the timeout period.

Hi Monica,

What is the file size you are trying to pick?

In advance mode of communication channel put following entry.

Name : ftp.timeout

Value : timeoutsecs

Also check what is the timeout specified at the FTP server level.

Thanks for your response.yes i set this timeout parameter at CC level.can you please tell me at server level how could i check wht is timeout period?

You would need to check this with the FTP server vendor. I assume there is FTP server management tools in which this would be set.

It may be worthwhile increasing the ftp timeout parameter to a larger value, also you should check what the timeout value is set to on the FTP server side.
