Hi Gurus,

Could anyone please explain me with a example(easily understandable) about the SNP Deployment with fairshare rule B..with an example and how the calculation is done..

Thanks

Hello,

Fair Share Rule B is something like a equation.

For example:

In DC1, demand is D1, target stock level is T1, stock on hand in previous bucket is S1.

In DC2, demand is D2, target stock level is T2. stock on hand in previous bucket is S2.

In supply plant, ATD quantity is A.

When A < D1+D2, fair share rule B applied.

Assume we deploy X to DC1 and Y to DC2, now the equation is:

1)X+Y = A.

2)(S1X)/T1 = (S2Y)/T2

During fair share rule B calculation, you may need to notice the below points:

1)Some customizing setting, like lot size and rounding value will be taken into consideration.

2)Transportation duration (GItranportaionGR) is taken into account.

So for DC1 and DC2, you may look into different bucket.

Hi Guys,

Can you help me out how the system computes the deployment using Fair Share Rule B with the scenario below:

ATD = 4000

DC1

Demand 500

TSL 2000

On Hand 0

DC2

Demand 1000

TSL 2000

On Hand 0

Thanks!

Hello,

Fair share rule only applies when ATD < total demand.

In your case, ATD (4000) > total demand (1500), system will use push rule to calculate deployment quantity.

Hi,

Deployment Fair share rule has two steps.

Step 1: To bring the demand shortfall quantity of the destinations to the same level (quantity)

Step 2: to Bring the target stock level of the destinations to the same level (Percentage)

The first priority of FS B is to reduce shortfall towards demand to all the destinations (Step1)

If there is any ATD qty left after this step, then only target stock level balancing (Step 2) is carried out.

For example please refer the link below (simple and clear examples are provided)

Click on Deployment heuristic in the link below.

Hi,

Two cases are explained below to demonstrate FS B behavior.

DC1 :

Demand : 100

Target stock level : 200

Stock : 30

DC2 :

Demand : 120

Target stock level : 100

Stock : 10

Case 1:

Source : ATD qty 100

In this case Deployment will confirm as follows

DC1: 30

DC2: 70

By deploying stocks as above the demand shortfall in both locations is equal (50 nos).

Case 2:

Source : ATD qty 240

In this case Deployment will confirm as follows

DC1: 110 (70 for demand + 40 for SS)

DC2: 130 (110 for demand+ 20 for SS)

Demand met: DC1 = DC2 = 100%

Target stock level: DC1 = DC2 = 20%

In this the demand is first met 100 % for deploying stocks and the rest of the ATD qty (240 - [110+70] = 60) is distributed in such a way that the % target stock level in both locations is the same.

Hope this is clear. Pls let me know if you need further calrifications

regards,

Ashok
