Hello,

We are performing managed system configuration for portal and in step 7 (byte code installation) is failing with error umask077

Error: Umask check was not sucessful STDOUT:077 STDERR:77

i checked the note 1163751 , changed the umask of managed system osuser(<sid>adm) and diagnostic user(daaadm) to 027 and changed the permission of files like instance directory to chmod g+rX . But still we are getting the same problem

Please advise us to proceed further.

problem with sapstartsrv service , stopsap is not having any impact on sapstartsrv service which is blocking the umask changes .

After stopping the system kill sapstartsrv manully and restart the system then umask changes will be reflected.

Hi Venkat,

I tried the manual way of killing everything, also sapinit stop but sometimes even a UNIX box needs the good ole Ctrl+Alt+Del and presto, works like magic! Wish I could award you points for this but thanks for posting your findings.
