Export to word doc reduces font size by .5.

I am using CR For Visual Studio 2010 SP2 in winform app .net 4.0. When I export report to word doc and check the font size, it shows a font size which .5 less than the font size set by Crystal report. For example, I am setting a text field font size as 12 in rpt file. When I export to doc and open it using in word 2010 , it shows the font size for the same field as 11.5. how to avoid the reduction in font size while exporting into word doc ? Any pointers in this direction will be helpful.

Hi,

Was this report designed with 'Default Printer' or 'No Printer'?

If 'No Printer' try 'Default Printer' and viceversa.

If you have any printer associated with report try upgrading it's driver to latest version.

One more thing can be tried, what happens when you export the report from embedded designer.

Sorry - no pointers. Other than patience - this is a known issue, probably to be addressed in Service Pack 3 of Crystal reports. See Kb [1643979 - Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 does not look for ForceLargerFonts registry key|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333633343333333933373339%7D.do]

I have seen one or two reports of people using the below KBase with success (you'll have to modify the reg key to reflect CRVS2010). But most have no success. Testing this I did not have any success either, nor did I see the CRVS2010 engine looking for any of the keys noted in the KB....

KB article talks about the font size reduction when exports to PDF format. I was trying with word doc format. Is the issue mentioned in KB common to both PDF and Doc format ?

There are two "MS Word Exports" available:

MS Word (97 - 2003) (.doc) and MS Word (97 - 2003) - Editable (.rtf).

MS Word (97 - 2003) (*.doc) results in a font being smaller by 0.5 of a point in CR 2011, CR 2008, CR XI R2 and Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (CRVS2010).

MS Word (97 - 2003) - Editable (*.rtf) exports the font correctly.

E.g.; the behavior of MS Word (97 - 2003) (.doc) has always been 0.5 of a point smaller. This may not be correct, but I do not see any escalations for a fix on the issue - probably because of the MS Word (97 - 2003) - Editable (.rtf) being correct. E.g.; use MS Word (97 - 2003) - Editable (*.rtf).

Export to rtf does not reduce font size, but it ignores line objects and box objects. I need absolutely correct export to Word format too.

CR 2008 and CR 2011 have the same behavior. Export to RTF, this exports fine.
