LOCL Print with SAP GUI 720_8 to file with Generic printer

Hi all,

I've a strange problem.

In ERP6 we print pdf files to printer LOCL. Behind this SAP LOC is the Windows printer GENERIC with destination FILE.

Normally all is OK. A print is running to LOCL, SAPLPD and the printer GENERIC pops up a dialog box for the file name.

But on one PC (Windows 7) I've a problem. In view of SAP GUI the print is OK and I can see it in the printer queue of Windows. But no pop up appears to ask for the filename and in the queue of GENERIC printer the Job has an error. If I print with word or other programs a popup appears and all is OK.

I tried some new installations of printer and GUI but wit no success.

There are also no useful events.

Have someone a clue?

Hello Harald,

Are you using access method G to print?

We also advise using the latest GUI patch (10), as there are some issues resolved

where the GUI crashed after printing.
