BI 730 and Authorization settings in RSCUSTV23

Experts:

We are Migrating from 3.x security to New BI 7 analysis authorization.

I understand that prior to migration we have to change to New analysis authorization settings in u201CRSCUSTV23u201D transaction.

But along with security migration we are also upgrading from BI 7 to BI 730 version and in 730 version RSCUSTV23 is no longer available.

So my question is do we need to switch the settings in RSCUSTV23 prior to 730 upgrade or will it be automatically done while doing the upgrade to 730.

Hi,

You can check this forum for more details on this, though i suppose you have to select it manually,after technical upgrade, use TCode RSCUSTV23 (SPRO) and select option "Obsolete Concept with RSR Authorization".

If you cannot migrate your old authorizations to the new concept immediately after the upgrade, you can return to the old concept using transaction RSCUSTV23.

No need of RSCUSTV23 anymore in BI 7.30. Migrate all analysis auth using migration tool in RSECADMIN. Please ensure to carry out this activity individually in all the systems DEV, QA, PROD. Only then activate all the existing analysis auths in Dev and transport them across.

There are plenty of threads on Forum on this topic as mentioned by Ashutosh, please go through them.

In BI 7.3 SAP enforce to AA as a mandatory so RSCUSTV23 is gone now. Using RSEC_MIGRATION to migrate AA, it will lead to a nightmare when you will require to post fix thousands of AA. It is clearly mentioned in it's documentation as well. I guess due to marketing strategy SAP still keep this option

Hello :

Just to update you all on this issue . We did not make the RSCUSTV23 settings prior to upgrade to 7.30 .

We had a OSS message with SAP and SAP recommended that 7.3 upgrade will automatically take care of this and it is not required to manfully make the settings.

Post upgrade our AA are working correctly.
