Hello Team,
Kindly note, we are planning to perform the data base patching for one of our landscape. As part of this exercise the existing data base service pack that is MS SQL 2005 SP 2 to SP 4. As it is touching the data base we would like conduct a testing once the patching is applied. The system is running in ECC 5.0 .
Help requested:
Can you please advise us what are the things to be covered as part the testing (that will be conducted after the patching)
Many Thanks
Praveen Kumar

Hi Praveen,
As a first step you should perform Database patching on a test environment. You can create the same by making a copy of Production system.
Once the database has been patched, I would suggest to have most critical transactions tested on test environment. All critial reports should get tested. From Basis perspective you need to test whether backup, restore, database performance,Tune the database as per SAP recommended notes.
Once the test environment is tested by functional team, you can easily traverse patching DEV, QAS and PRD.
