Hi Gurus,

In APODP How many times do we need to run Interactive planning for period 4-4-5?

(4 weeks-4weeks-5weeks---->1 Quarter)

Hello Raj,

is your question to do with how to set up jobs to run statistical forecast for 4-4-5 calendar.

Assuming that you would run forecast as a background job you will have to do the following:

1. Setup three jobs. Schedule the first job for current month with a repetition evry four months

2. Schedule Job 2 for 2nd month with a repetiotion of 4 months

3. Schedule Job 3 for 3rd month with a repetition of 5 months.

Hi Raj,

As your quarter contains almost 3 months period, when you are running

statistical forecast for this period, you need to see from business angle,

whether during this period any historical data needs to be considered

later on once the stat forecast got generated in system. If at all, no

changes in sales needs to be considered and if your business is

capable to use stat forecast during this period it is fare enough.

Moreover, if your purpose for generating stat forecast is to use as

baseline to generate consencus forecast, then you can very well

goahead with single run and modify the forecast.

Your question (as also your previous post) is not clear. What do you mean by running interactive planning for period 4-4-5. Are you meaning how many times you need to run statistical forecasting in a quarter which has 4-4-5 weeks?

Hi Rajkumar,

How many times you will execute statistical forecast depends on your business process. Do you want to run statistical forecast every quarter or every week. If however you plan to run statistical forecast every month then you have to be a bit creative in setting up the background job. In scheduling the background job you may like to use a custom defined TVARV table field to determine the dates to run the statistical forecast. So the custom field can derive the date of statistical forecast run based on today's date + 4 weeks then + 4 weeks but then + 5 weeks followed by again + weeks.

Are you using a fiscal year variant to define your quarter and map it to 4-4-5 week frequency. Then you may be able to use that fiscal year variant.
