I am working with NW ECC 6.0 Ehp4, 701 Kernel patch Number 161, SAP-BASIS Component: SAPKB70106, SAP GUI 7.20 patch 10.
Used t-code sm30. Modified table SSM_CUST and added SESS_URL pointing to an internal Wintel Server. It's supposed to be that simple but apparently I am not seeing a critical step.
Hello Daniel,
I just ran this myself with SAPKB70109
Kernel release 701
Sup.Pkg lvl. 39
SAPGUI 7.20 patch 10
I created a request (own request as $TMP) and it generated a transport name

Hi Jude,
I to can also generate the transport following the changes to SSM_CUST . Were you able to pull a simple html file into right side of the SAP GUI? I am just trying to display data and have not been able to do so. I have verified the ICM port is open and can telnet to either Unix or Microsoft Windows Server. That would rule out a firewall issue. Not sure what else is blocking this. many Thanks for the feedback.
Regards,
Dan
Hello Daniel,
I just used the same URL the author gave.
http://www.johnmoy.com/demos/ztransactioncodes
in my test
I then had a workbench request which I transported over.
There was nothing more I had to do.
The only thing I have done is the customization of the table SSM_CUST and create a simple "Hellow World" html on a Wintel Server. I can manage to disply is the SAP Water Ripple image in the right side and make that go away but I am left with zero data. Is this workbech stuff a necessary part?
Thanks for the responce.
Dan
I wish I could give you points for this fantastic entry.
We see benefits of this in our Solution Manager, where we now easy can create a web page presenting the FAQ, common Documents and instructions to the end user. Now we dont have to use the URL-links in the menu.
