cvc's

Hello.

My client has the following requirement

In order to fulfil business requirement of closing of a particular characteristic(DC or location) a, the process of u201CRestatementu201D is required. The so restated new CVCs would retain all history of the original CVCs

u201Crealignmentu201D process is done only in Demand Planning Planning-Area however restatement process updates the CVCs values in all areas of upstream e.g. eBW (enterprise Business Warehouse data) as well as downstream processes e.g. TeraData/Connect ( Business reporting with TeraData programs etc.)

So I am looking for a possible solution. Any inputs are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Sai

Hi Sai,

Within APO, as you mentioned, CVCs/data would get shifted by realignment.

For the further actions in linked systems, you need to discuss with the relevant systeem team.

Wherever BW reporting is done based on DP data, old CVCs would automatically no longer be in picture, since they extract real time data from planning areas. However, there would be many other flows within BW, and BW team needs to take actions as required to change the CVCs from old CVCs to the new CVCs. Similarly, even the other impact within APO has to be taken care of on case-to-case basis. e.g. if some old material is going out and new material comes in, you should have it in your design so that the old material gets out of SNP or PPDS planning.

The complexity of the activities in BW, or in SNP module, etc. can vary from simple to very complex depending on your design. Unfortunately, there is no direct way to change data everywhere. This is also one of the reasons that APO consultants are needed and we have our jobs

You need to communicate to your client accordingly that it's not possible to change data everywhere in one go. This kind of data change activity needs to be planned on a case to case basis, either as a small project or a small change.

Thanks - Pawan
