Inspection Lot Creation by Scheduling

Dear all,

We are in to the implementation of SAP and have the following scenario. As per our QA plan requirement, we need to conduct certain tests at certain frequency. (e.g Once in 6 months and once in a year) As per my understanding standard SAP gives the option to create automatic inspection lot generation whenever it gets a trigger. It seems scheduling is possible only in Calibration management. Other than that does SAP offers scheduling kind of stuff for other inspection lot origin?

Hi

Apart from Stability study where you can schedule the samples, there in one more way to define the retesting period for the batches (material need to be batch managed).

Define Inspection interval for the material in Material Master QM View and activate Insp type 09, create Quality Plan for the same. Go to QA07, define the variant & schedule the Job. As per the inspection interval, Inspection lots will get generated automatically.

Try the above if it helps.

Thanks

Sachin

hi,

in standard, SAP does not offer scheduling for other inspection lot origin Except 09 (As per Sachin's post) , Because there are Events such as purchase order, Process order etc required for inspection lot creation.

we need to conduct certain tests at certain frequency.

What type of Tests are these?

IF You can specify Functional location or Equipment for these tests; it is possible.

you can use calibration management process, Use control key QM01 in task lists.

Create Maintenance strategy. - IP11

also explore IE01, IA05, IP01,IP10 etc.

Hi you can look for audit management . You can schedule for the audits and execute the audit. Only thing is it ll not create the inspection lot but you can record all your observations for the material audit through questions and also you can plan for CAPA based on the observations etc. You can even generate the report and distribute the PDF files of the report from SAP.

If you want to record based on inspection plan then you can do it manuaaly once the audit schedule is there.

hi,

Yes, in quality management scheduling is possible when u using the sample stability analysis but this scheduling is for physical samples. this sample scheduling is for 16 0r 15 inspection type.

you are correct that scheduling is possible only against the PM object, if u want to map this scenario then ma suggestion is to go for some work around by using some exits etc.
