Allocation of Capacities to the production

Hi Experts

We have a scenario where multiple products are produced in the multiple resource and Multiple products can be produced in the single resource.

We want to allocate capacity in the resource for different Products.Is it possible in PPDS?

This capacity reservation functionality only works with CTP?

Can this functionality can be applicable in Heuristics or Optimizer.

Hi,

Capacity reservation can be handled with heuristics and optimizer also. I have seen them working with heuristic and optimizer in PPDS.

1) Capacity reservation can also be possible for products level ?

2) I want to know which heuristics in PPDS, takes capacity reservation ?

hi RK,

1.It is very well possible to use the capacity reservation at the product level. We have to maintain the capacity reservation group with the product characteristic.

2. Any heuristic run with the finite scheduling strategy will consider the capacity reservation. So, we have to make sure that the scheduling strategy has finite scheduling active.
