Problem with Mac Gui and Hide Window

Hello,

On our Mac, when we "hide window" (iconify) the gui and then reopen it

it does not behave correctly.

I have tested on several MACs.

Basically when we reopen it, the windows does not refresh.

You can still click on icons but the windows display is not updated.

The text you type in is not written.

I have also noticed that the window gets refreshed if we re-hide and reopen it.

But it is then non refreshable as before.

Would you know why I have this problem and how I could solve it?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello,

There is one more thing that I have noticed.

The bug exists with GUI 720 (Rev4 and Rev5) but not with the 710.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello Benoît,

some (long?) time ago, we have seen such a behavior. I can not remember the details, but all Java applications where affected by this issue and I think it was with a certain JavaVM 6 version and disappeared in newer versions of Java.

Could you please double check that you are running the latest Java (check with "Software Update", Java updates are listed there also usually.)

SAP GUI for Java 7.10 might not be affected because it uses Java 5, while 7.20 uses Java 6.

In case you have the newest Java, could you please check on the console, if there are any error messages coming from the Java VM / SAP GUI for Java when this happens?

Best regards

Hello Rolf,

We use the latest java (1.6.0_29-b11-402).

When I start the GUI, the console does not open.

and there is nothing in it.

Could you please tell me how do you start it?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello Benoît,

in case you run it stand alone (e.g. clicking on the app icon in Finder) you need to open /Applications/Utilities/Console.

In case you run it as an applet inside the browser, you need to enable the console before starting the JavaVM in the browser in

/Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences, Advanced tab.

What OS version do you have, and which "bitness" (32 or 64bit)?

May be you can create an official bug report on component BC-FES-JAV and add the output of the console (if exisiting) and the content of the about box of SAP GUI for Java.

Best regards

Rolf-Martin

Hello,

It is a 64 bit Mac OS distrib.

I ran the console the way you told me, but nothing came out after starting the Platinium GUI.

I will create a call concerning this problem.

This seems to be a JavaVM issue. While we are investigating the problem these two workarounds can be used:

- Do not use the keyboard shotcut Cmd-M to minimize the window, double click the window title instead.

- Once you have this dead window, choose Zoom from the Window menu, this will cause to recover from this wrong window state.

Hello,

We are speaking about the same problem.

When I click on the increase window size ico,n the freeze stops.

If the window is not in max size, I have to click twice on the icon to solve the problem.

Please keep me inform about the bug resolution.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
