Hi everyone,
I've been having this problem in DP: there are two (or more) different selection profiles with completely different characteristics values. When I load a selection profile and I try to load another selection profile, the system give me the following error message: "Selection locked by user *****"
I already checked the filters of the selection profiles and they are exclusive between them, so there are not reason for having data locked.
Those are the filters for every selection profile:
Selection profle 1:
Show: ZPRODUCTO
Conditions:
ZPRODUCTO_CATEGORIA = 8, 13, 18
ZPRODUCTO_CLASIFICACION = A, B, C, T
ZPRODUCTO_LINEA Exclude single values = 1, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 138, 176
Selection profile 2:
Show: ZPRODUCTO
Conditions:
ZPRODUCTO = 1007358, 1007359, 1007360, 1007361, 1007362, 1007363, 1007364, 1007455, 1007456, 1007457, 1007458, 1007547, 1007548, 1007549, 1009271
When I load the selection profile 1, the locked entries are:

Then, I try to load the selection profile 2 in another Session but I get the error message.
I really appreciate if someone know what can I do to solve this problem because is very frequent that a user lock the data of another user.
Thanks a lot,
Jasmin Munera
Hi everyone,
I requested applying SAP Note 1448436 and the problem was solved.
Thanks,
Jasmin

Hello,
First you can close selection profile 1 and load selection 2 into the planning book, then check the lock entries.
Then please refer to note 397292 to see why the selection 2's lock entry cannot be created.
For lock entry's creation, please also refer to note 1130258.
Please notice that even there's no same CVC in the two selection profiles, there's still possibility that the selection profiles lock each other.
Best Regards,
Ada

Hi Jasmin
Even if there the two selections that have completely different selection criteria, threre could still be an overalap of CVC's - and in such a case the system will lock.
In your case, it looks like one of the products listed in selection 2 belongs to one of the Product Categories or Classification or Product Lines listed in Selection 1.
To confirm this what you can do is to display CVC's in /SAPAPO/MC62 and enter the selection criteria in selection 1. In another session, do the same but for selection 2. If there is even one CVC that is common, you cannot open the second selection in Interactive Planning.

Hi Jasmin,
Why don't you do a small check with a simple selection?
If you are sure that no CVCs are common between the 2 selections, and still data is getting locked, then most likely possibility is SAP bug.
You could load data in edit mode for a simple selection 1, let's say
ZPRODUCTO = X, Y, Z for selection 1, and
ZPRODUCTO = A, B, C for selection 2.
See if you still get this locking information when you try to go in edit mode for your selection 2.
You can also check the lock entries against a user in SM12.
Also check that when you come out of planning view (where you loaded data for Selection 1 in edit mode), then it's being possible to load data for selection 2 in edit mode. Also entries should go away from SM12 after you came out of edit mode for data related to selection 1.
Hope this helps.
Thanks - Pawan
Hi Pawan
I did what you recommended and I don't get the error when I load all the products of Selection 2 (or 1) in Edit Mode and then I load some products (can be all the products less the last one) in Selection 1 (or 2) in Edit Mode.
What can I do to solve this problem?The users are angry due to this annoyed error.
Thanks a lot.
