Workflow definition import failed

Hi All,

I tried to import workflow definition from Development to QA but import failed with error "Import failed for object number 5. java.lang.NullPointerException".

Please help me in understanding why this import is failing.

Hi Prabhat,

From the error, itu2019s hard to tell what the issue might be. Few things to checku2026

How many workflow definitions are in the oma? Does all of them fail? Have you checked if the process owner user set in Dev also exists in QA? Is there any custom approver roles workflow is using which may not be there in QA? It doesnu2019t appear to be a permission issue, but you may want to double check.

Thanks Vikram for help.

There are 3 workflow definitions in oma file and all of them are failing. process owners are not there in development and quality.

I can import other oma files, so definitely its not an authorization issue.

I just saw that created by is different in both the system could it be a problem?

In quality its showing Enterprise manager, but in development its showing name of developer.

I am not sure if I am getting error because of this.
