MDMGX - SRM MDM Catalog

Dear MDM Guru's,

I am new to SRM MDM catalog scenario. Need Data flow steps from SRM and ECC to SRM-MDM Catalog Repository by using MDMGX and MDM_CLNT_EXTR transaction.

For Example : Please provide information in below format.

Currencies from SRM and ECC to SRM MDM Repository

Product Groups from SRM and ECC to SRM MDM Repository

...................

Points will be awarded for useful answers. Please help.

MDM_CLNT_EXTR is used to extract main table information.It bacically extracts data in IDOC format so PI is required to convert IDOC format into XML format before sending data to MDM.

Neethu joy: As per your documents, MDMGX extracts Product Group, ISO Code,Currencies reference lookup data from SRM system . What about the taxonomy, Hierarchical and qualified data? Please let me know.

Please share the SAP Notes or any information related to data extraction with the help of Function Module(in MDMGX) and How to prepare a file in step 'Upload ports and check tables' for custom table data extraction.

Hi Jacob,

Hierarchy data is also extracted using MDMGX for you need to used following function module in generic extractor:

MDM_COMM_CATEGORIES_EXTR

MDM_COMM_CAT_ATTRIBUTES_EXTR

For Qualifier nonqualifier if it is a lookup it will be extracted using MDMGX and qualifier values are always imported when you enter main table as these values are dependent on nonqualifier and main tabel record so you need to use MDM_CLNT_EXTR.

Hello,

When you download the Business Content for a Repository, we get an text file, will has details of the lookup tables, that are going to be used with MDMGX.

If you open the text file, in excel you will find the details of wht you are looking for.

Hello,

MDMGX is used for lookup's

MDM_CLNT_EXTR is used for Main table data.

Hierarchy will be formed with the process level that you specify in MDMGX,

for Taxonomy you need to design your taxonomy according to the source system, to extract data from SAP BD93 tx is used for classification data.

to download business content you need to login into http://service.sap.com/support then select installation and upgrades, then search for the relevant content, but your S user id must have download authorization, its better to ask the basis guy to download.
