Hi Experts,

When I started the SAP Instance , disp+work stopped in SAP MMC console.Hence I am not able to login to the SAP system(the error : sapdp00 broken).Database is MaxDB.Before adding DATA Volume,the server was working fine.Since the data area was full , I added a new volume and restarted the SAP server.From then on the error persist!..After starting SAP Instance,I also deleted the contents of dev_disp and dev_w0 file but faced the same error.I also executed the command load_systab for loading the system tables but then also the same error.

While starting SAP Instance I get the message as 'Database not available via R3trans'.

While executing the command R3trans -x or R3Trans -d: I get the following message::

This is R3trans version 6.19 (release 711 - 22.01.09 - 11:27:00).

Please help to resolve the issue.

Hi Priya,

Use DBM Gui and make sure your Max DB database is up . if you use DBMGui or MaxDB studio, it makes easier for you to troubleshoot the issue

Thanks for your suggestions.I followed the same steps of recovering data area since it was full by adding a new data volume previously as given in the pdf but ended up with the error.

It clearly says username/pwd issue. Can you please make sure admin userid and password are maintained correctly?

Hi Siva,

Since I am new to this area, Can you tell how to check whether ADMIN username and password are maintained correctly through backend since I am not able to login to my SAP screen.

From previous posts, I have also tried the below entry but also the same error::

xuser -U DEFAULT -u <usrname> <passwd> -d SID -n <hostname> set

but still the same.Db is not connected through R3trans.

Hello Priya,

As expected, trans.log also shows the same error message.

Are you able to connect to MaxDB database through DBMGUI? If not, please share the error message and make sure user name used to connect to DB is not locked.

Default adm user name and password is control/control. In your case it might have been changed.

Thanks for your immediate response.As per your suggestion, we logged to DBM GUI through default CONTROL credentials.The db_state is also online, but data area and log area are 0%. Please suggest how to check whether the credentials are locked or not.We are not able to login to SAP screen.While restarting through SAP Management console , SAP dispatcher(disp+work) stopped.

Hello Priya,

If you are able to see db_state is online, it means you are able to connect to DB with control user id and password. Can you check with your OS team the status of user ids SIDADM and SAPDB? Looks like your DB is up but application is not able to communicate.

Thanks for your response.Actually when we tried telnet <hostname> 3200 or telnet <hostname> 3300, connection refused.But the entries are present in services file in etc/services.Do you have any idea why connection is refused .The Firewall is also disabled and in network level everything is fine.But not able to login from SAP logon pad.Connection is refused from application level to dispatcher port 3200.Any suggestions in this regard.?

Looks like your DB is down. Please run command "R3trans -x" and take a look at trans.log that is generated under the directory where you executed R3trans command. That will give you the root cause of this problem.
