Default values for Characteristics in DMS

Can we maintain any default value for a characteristic.

Like i want to maintain a default value for a characteristic ZCE_DMS_APPROVER.

Can i do this . If yes, then pls tell the procedure.

Did you try values tab in ct04 for a characteristic.

But that wil not take values by default.

What i need is: If user dooesn't maintain any value for a characteristic manually, then system should pick one by itself?

In CT04,for the characteristic that you have defined,navigate to 'Values' tab.Herein,there is a column going by the alphabet 'D' (i.e, Default Value).If this checkbox is enabled for a value,then this value is assigned as default for the characteritic. Hope this helps.
