MOISTURE / HUMIDITY FACTOR IN RAW MATERIALS

Good Afternoon

The question we have is how to avoid ending up with differences between the inventory received by logistics and the inventory transferred to the stock pile for production.

Here is our process:

LOGISTICS (TRAFFIC) receives material #399 for 450 tons.

If we issue 100 tons of that material to production physically but we know the humidity factor is 25%, then in the system we only reduce material #399 by 75 tons and increase material #699 in the stock pile for the 75 tons.

At the end all material will be physically consumed for both #399 and #699, but in the system the humidity differences will still be showing in material #399.

What is the correct way to treat this to avoid having non existent inventory in the system?

Thank you

*Hi,*

*As per your discription, it seems it will a pharma material, so you have to change the procedure for showing inventory in system, you could separate material in small lots and do the testing for same, and i m sure you will get different readings in all baches so now mention in your QM module and in Material MRP with as a waste material and settle it in system.*

*i m damsure your problem will resolve in system and system shows Material stock correct*

*Thanks*
