WDA: Unable to start html editor/run applications after set FQDN also

Hi to all,

i've already read many blogs/howto's/older posts before write this post. But i didn't find any solution.

The problem is simple (but not form me, because i've already excluded the most simple causes)

I'm not able to edit a VIEW in the SE80, and run my WDA applications.

Reading all posts in internt and this foorum i've already done this :

1. Set-up in the instance profile the "icm/host_name_full" parameter with the fully qualified domain of the SAP machine. The value is right because if i ping it, i receive the right ip number

1.a Restart ICM with SMICM transaction. The service HTTP (port 8000) is up and running on the FQDN Sap system

2. Modify my hosts file with the FQDN and the ip of the Sap System

3. Change my computer namer with the FQDN version (so now it is in the form "mycomputername.localdomain.com")

4. Activate all WDA services reading different Sap standard notes

5. Try Activate/Deactivate in internet explorer the proxy value (proxy is obligatory here to access to internet). I've already tried set/unset the flag "Ignore proxy for local address"

After that, WDA programming (open html editor in SE80) and programs executing still doesen't works.

Are there other proprierties/settings that i should check? If not, how i can understand why i cannot connect to my WAS by browser?

I know that i could ask to basis team but i'd like to understand by myself what could be the reasons (and the corrections) in order to obtain a workng WDA enviroment.

Thank a lot four yours help/support

Andrea

Hi,

Most of the time this is due to host entries. please ensure that your domain name in Web Dynpro Application and IP of ERP system are maintained correctly in host file.

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran.

Hi Andrea,

check this help docu: [Configuration in WDA|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/e86de5008b4d9ae10000000a155369/content.htm]

Also check SAP Note 1088717. If you dont have access to check note, check the below solution,

Services for Web Dynpro ABAP
For Web Dynpro ABAP (WDA), you must activate the following services in
 the system:

     o Using WDA applications

        - /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
Note that, in this case, you should activate only the node
           itself, not the subnodes.

        - /default_host/sap/public/bc
This node is automatically activated when you activate the
subnodes described below. Similarly, in this case, you must
activate only the node itself and the following subnodes:
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/ur
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/icons
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/icons_rtl
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/webicons
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/pictograms
           - /default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/* (ssr, mimes, and so
           on)
           - /default_host/sap/public/myssocntl

        - In addition to these general WDA services, you still have to
activate the relevant application services in the ICF tree.
The service for the application <application> is generally
located under the ICF node /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/
           <application>.

o Using the WDA development environment

        - /default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner

        - /default_host/sap/bc/wdvd/

        - The following five nodes are allowed to be active only in a
development system, and under no circumstances in a production
system (due to a security risk):
           /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/configure_application
           /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/configure_component
           /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wd_analyze_config_appl
           /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wd_analyze_config_comp
           /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wd_analyze_config_user

Hope this helps u.,

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran.
