Run oraroot script

Hi,

we have completed the EHP5 upgrade on the Development environment.Our Dev system is on distributed environment ie apps and db on different host.During the post upgrade task where do we need to run the script on db server or on apps server?

Hi Ravi,

Why do you need to run oraroot.sh after EHP upgrade? i thought oraroot only for oracle patch or installation?

Hi Nicholas,

Running ./oraroot.sh is part of follow-up activity after EHP ugrade.you can find it on page 78 of the EHPI installguide.

Hi Ravi,

It doesn't matter either you run it in SAP host or DB host as /sapmnt/SID/exe is NFS mount between the two node. oraroot.sh will grant and adjust permission for brbackup, brarchive and brcoonect.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the quick reply,but in our system we have /sapmnt/SID/exe on both host but are different mount points.

Even the kernel are not in sync, I believe in that case the scripts should be executed on DB host as this is where the

brbackup, brarchive and brconect is being used.We have to copy the BR* executable manually to the DB server.
