Hi Vijay,

Your shadow instance is not getting enough shared memory to start.

You can check the shared memory configuration using the command

sappfpar -check pf=<path of instance profile of shadow instance>

Correct all the errors in above command .Try to start shadow instance again.

Alternatively you can stop the main instance and then start the shadow instance. This will ensure shadow instance is getting enough memory to start.

Deepak Kori

I had a problem like this running SPS 7 for Solman 7.1 with the SUM tool. Shadow instance would not start.

Turns out I gave it too much RAM in Hyper-V (Server 2012) Reduced from 12 CPU cores and 32GB assigned to 8 Cores and 20GB. Shadow instance now starts.

Hi Vijay,

Can you check OSS note 525677.

Additionally check for logs in the upgrade directory and see if it gives you any hint.

Hi,

Can you stop the main instance and try to start the shadow instance. It should work then.
