Can i configure MDM distribution folder location to different box other than MDS server?

Yes, you can configure MDS.INI file and specify some different path..When you open MDS.INI file you will see one parameter, "Distribution Root Dir". you just need to configure it...

if MDM server is able to access the directory from other box, then it should not be any issue...

Thats the question, MDM server communicated through ports and maps, how will it communicate to a different Server box.

Thats what i am thinking if MDM server can communicate any box, then that box could be configured. Dont see a reason it should not work.

Will update the forum once we have tried out.

If we configure the MDM distribution root directory in MDS.INI, then MDM server will create ports and other folders under the distribution path which we have configured, and not in the default distribution directory path.. Hope that clears things..
