Communication Channel entries after PI System Copy

Former Member

Hi,

We do a system copy/refresh from our Production environment to our QA environment to make sure QA system is in sync with Production. After the refresh, all communication channels in QA have Production entries and we have to manually change close to 200 communication channels to point to non-production entries. Is there a better way to do this? Can we automate this?

Thanks

Praveen

Yes,

that will be a painful activity everytime you make a copy.....

Although there is a painful approach for this i think which is very risky approach again...

just check the below blog if it can help for other environments..

Hello

Please see the note #1605672 How to stop all communication channels in a copied PI system. This describes how you can stop all communication channels in the copied system before you start up the copied PI system.

Mark,

This note talks about how to stop the channels while you are changing the entries like how Udo said above. But is there a better way to do it rather than manually entering the details.

Thanks

Hi Praveen,

no, unfortunately not. Each channel of QAS has very individual entries (mostly host adresses, users, passwords).

Udo
