Hi,
I am new to APO and need help on the following basic stuff:
As far as i understand, the output of SNP is either planned orders or purchase requisitions. Are these only known as Stock transfer Orders? and then what is a stock transport order?
Can u please tell me what are the inputs and outputs (names) of the following :
DP
SNP
PPDS
Deployment
TLB
TPVS
Will appreciate any help on this.
Regards,
Kunal Roy
Kunal,
Are these only known as Stock transfer Orders?
No
what is a stock transport order?
A Stock Transport order is a special type of Purchase order. In this order, you can plan for and execute a move of stock from one Plant(location) to another Plant(location). They can be either intra-company (two plants belonging to the same company code) or inter-company(two plants belonging to different company codes).

Hi,
Thanks for the definition of Stock Transport orders. Can u please tell me how is it different from Stock Transfer Order.
Thanks for the links as well. I got a brief of the processes. But what i was exactly looking for is something like this:
SNP Input: Demand Plan (constrained/unconstrained)
SNP Output: Purchase requisition, Planned order
and so on..
I would really appreciate if u can break it down this way. It would help me get rid of these term related confusion.
Thanks & Regards
Kunal
Kunal,
The terms 'Stock Transport orders' and 'Stock Transfer orders' are used interchangeably in most cases.
I do not answer 'interview' questions in these forums. If you really want to understand these topics, I suggest you immerse yourself in the links I have supplied. Or, avail yourself of some basic SAP APO training.

.
Thanks for the answer and the suggestion.
It was just that these terms are used many times in all the sap material and their usage at many places confused me a bit. I wanted a brief idea on inputs and outputs of the various processes as mentioned above. Thanks anyways!
From what i have studied so far, i guess these are the i/ps and o/ps. Can u please comment if they are correct:
Inputs:
DP : History, CVCs, Key figs
SNP: Demand Plan (Constrained, Unconstrained)
PP/DS : Demand Plan (Constrained, Unconstrained) OR Planned Orders. Purchase requisitions(from SNP)
Deplyment: Unconfirmed stock transfer orders(planned orders, purchase req, prod order, purchase order etc)
TLB: Deployment confirmed stock transfer orders
TPVS: Transfer requirements
Outputs:
DP: Demand Plan
SNP: Planned orders, purchse requisitions
PP/DS: Planned orders, purchse req, prod orders, purchase orders
Deployment: Deployment confirmed stock transfer orders
TLB: TLB confirmed stock transfer orders
TPVS: Planned shipments
Regards
