Hi,
Does anyone know if Sales Contracts (VBAK) need to be marked for deletion before it can be archived??
Is it a SAP Standard?
LC
Hi,
Normally the objects to be marked for archiving is decided by company based on the number of documents ganarated for a specific time period and the database activity on server. The more the documents, there will be load on various tasks performed by system to get to the required details etc.
Normally, sales orders, deliveries, invoices, IDOC's are archived on periodic basis once they exceed certain size / period.
regards,
Vaibhav

The SAP Note "Criterias for achiving Sales docs" describes a lot of related documents required to be set to status Complete = C to be able to be archived. This is often difficult to get on some documents linked to the sales document, unless it is marked for deletion.

Read OSS Note 481577 - Archivability criteria for sales documents and Note 547748 - FAQ: Archiving sales documents for details/clarifications.
