Hello Experts,

I am new to solution manager.

Want to get some information like -

Is Manual transport request handling centrally from Solution Manager possible?

can anyone share knowledge on implementing Transport request management in Solution manager?

Is chaRM is necessary to implement this functionality?

we do not want to use workflow based transport management.

However requirement is manual transport via solution manager centrally across the whole landscape.

Hi,

I don't think so it is possible. You need to have CHARM implemented to use transport functionality from solman.

Hi,

you have to specify what you understand with "manual transports".

With CHARM active, someone has to manual execute an action within the change document, to release and start transports.

But i will not be possible to use the "classic" transport system via SE10 + STMS etc. because CHARM prevents this, if it is configured correctly (project status switches).

Hi,

With "Manual" I meant that I dont want to use workflow based transport management thru CHARM.

I want to manually push the tranpsorts to each system via SOLMAN.

is that the possiblty?

You can use CTS+ for manual transports, and it does not require CHARM to be setup. We are using in our Solution Manager system to carry out transports on a separate Enterprise Portal system.
