Material Master Number Ranges

Hi Sappers,

Even after defining number ranges for the year 2012, i am not able to assign number range to material master and hence cannot post material stock (mb1c). I am getting the error:

Number range for trans./event type WA in year 2012 does not exist

Basically i am confused what are the steps once i define the number range and go to tcode OMBT to assign number range to transaction type WA.

Kindly help. I searched but couldn't get answer on the forum.

Hello Rahul,

Your error is for Number Ranges for Document Type WA, which is FI Docment for Goods Issue.

Go to T-Code OBA7 & select Document Type WA.

You need to maintain Number Ranges for 2012 for WA & other FI Document Types also. You may take help of FI Consultant if required.

The IMG Menu Path for above settings as as under:

IMG - Financial Accounting (New) - Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) - Document - Document Types - Define Document Types for Entry View

IMG - Financial Accounting (New) - Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) - Document - Document Number Ranges - Define Document Number Ranges for Entry View

dear friend,

run OMBT

hit Groups (F6)

tick the checkbox "Material documents...." (make sure it has your WA type)

hit Pencil (F6)

check out the valid record exists (just set up 9999 for your number range)

save changes

open new session and return to mb1c

Dear Friend,

When I am hitting pencil (F6) ..which is step 4 in your reply.. I cannot see the no. range which i maintained for year 2012. However there are other no. ranges till 2011.

I had maintained the number range for 2012 by following menu path:

IMG > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical INventory > Number Assignment > Define Number Assignment for Accounting Documents. Click on Financial Accounting Number Ranges. You will need a number range for year 2012.

Where could be the possible error ?

THIS SCREEN WILL come , activate material document ,and select WA,CLICK PENCIL ICON(SHIFT+F5) SYSTEM SOWS AVAILABLE year number ranges, ofter press f6, system sows another popup screen, here you enter year like this

year from number to number

2012 00000001 9999999

please enter like this
