Test SSL Certificate not in trusted list of IE Or Firefox

Hello Experts,

We have recently installed the test SSL certificate on our development portal.

The test certificate is not in trusted list of IE Or Firefox and needs to be installed manually on clientu2019s browser.

Please let me know the root cause of this issue as this should not be a limitation.

Also, could this issue be because of the test certificate and would not be there once we actually purchase the certificate.

Hi,

What do you call "the test SSL Certificate" ?

Is is signed ? if yes by which Certification Authority ?

If it has been signed by SAP CA, SAP CA is not a well known CA and therefore not integrated by default in the main browsers.

If you want to use SAP CA, you have to import the SAP CA root and sub CA certificates inside each browsers in the company.

This, of course, can be automated by teledistribution.

Dear Anurag,

You need to import the test intermediate certificate manually in the IE Or Firefox for testing the application or URL.

For production enviroment there is no need to import in client machine. once the root certificate uploaded by the network it will accessible.

Hi Both,

Yes, the certificate is signed by SAP CA.

I installed the certificate manually in my IE and then the error got resolved.

As Arun has suggested that "For production enviroment there is no need to import the certificate in client machine. once the root certificate uploaded by the network it will accessible"

So, just want to re-confirm that once we purchase and upload the certificate in the production application server we would not require to install the certificate manually on the client machines, right?

Also, since our production server is on cluster environment do we need to purchase two certificates for both the nodes or we can purchase a single certificate and upload it in both the nodes?

Also, what would be the common name while creating a certificate in case we go for two different certificates for both the nodes?
