How to set Warning & Error for PS Budget while creating PO

Dear All Experts,

I want to configure the system in way that it should throw a warning once the cetain amount of budget comes to exhaust and once it is OVER completely gives an error.

How can I achieve this in PS ? Has anybody done this earlier, if so please guide or provide some inputs. It will be great help.

Example
Total Budget : Rs 10,000/-
Used Budget : Rs 8,000/- WARNING
Completed Budget : Rs 10,000/- ERROR

Hello Sharvari ,

You can do this with tolerance limit.

Go to Project System - Cost - Budget - Define Tolerance Limit.

Here you can give Usage as 80 % and activity as 1 ( when warning) and when you want error then 100 % , activity as 3 against your budget profile.

Further this budget profile you need to assign to project profile. So this error and warning will occur.

Revert back if having any doubt

As per your instructions I created two profiles for 1 and 3 activity. And it worked perfect. Problem solved. Assigning points.

No need to create two budget profiles. You can achieve this with one profile also.

This requirement can be addressed by standard SAP functionality (Tolerance Limits). Please search SAP forums or help.sap.com for more info. Let us know if you have specific doubts.
