Hi Experts,
i am New to DMS.My Server is AIX and Oracle DB.We r installing Content Server.
my question is...1.What is diff between Trex and Content Server?
2.now install content server.Now we install trex or not?
3.Trex support Unix flavours or not?
4.which one is best for industry(product company)?
Please give me replay ASAP.

Just to alert you w.r.t expertise, Content server can only be on MaxDB (instead of oracle as in your sap landscape), so you will have to install content server with maxdb.
Read the Installation guide for further research, most of the things will be clear from there.

TREX finds information in both structured and unstructured data. TREX provides SAP applications with services for searching and classifying large collections of documents and for searching and aggregating business objects.
SAP Content Server is a stand-alone server stores electronic documents of any format .

Hi,
From the definitions:
Content server -> Stores items
TREX -> Searches storage units like the content server etc.
So, unless you do not want to search the data you stored, a TREX is not required.
But if you do intend to search your data stores, then you have to install a TREX too. <- Recommended.
