Hi All,

I have few doubts regarding the EP7.3 standard installaton on AIX DB2 enviroment (After then BI integration into Portal).

1) Can i need to create manual SAP Directories and users before start the sapinst? If yes, could you please share the information.

2) Usage Type selection :

1) AS Java, 2) EPC 3) EP 4) BI Java

Apart from this can i need any Usage type for Portal installation?

I really appreciated for screenshots.

Thanks&Regards

Sharc

Hi Sharc,

1). Please create all the SAP mount directories manually before start the installation . User's will be created by SAPINST. Make sure, you install thru root.

2). For Portal Installtion, the usage type you have selected is good

1). AS Java, 2) EP-Core 3) EP 4) BI Java

3). Apart from this can i need any Usage type for Portal installation?

For Portal Installation thats it

Thanks,

Hi Sravanthi,

Thanks for the quick response.

If possible can you send me the list of mount directories (sapmnt)or directories with syntax would be the highly appreciated becoz i never done before in unix environment but i am familiar with unix.

Its really helpful to share prerequisites of OS Level (AIX 6.1) to install EP 7.3.

Thanks alot in Advance.

Hi,

I strongly recommend to contact your Unix Admin to create the mount points and mount points are depends on How you want to approach installation for all the systems in landscape.

Please gothru the installation guide for AIX - DB2 for NW 7.3 https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/instguides - SAP NetWeaver 7.3 - Installation - (The Installation guide also provides information on OS pre-requisites and DB patches)

Here are the some of the example mount points

/usr/sap/<SID>

/usr/sap/trans

/samnt/<SID>

/backup

/db2/db2<SID>

/db2/IBM

/db2/<SID>/db2dump

/db2/<SID>/log_dir

/db2/<SID>/log_dir2

/db2/<SID>/saptemp1

/db2/<SID>/log_archiv

/db2/<SID>/sapdata1

/db2/<SID>/sapdata2

/db2/<SID>/sapdata3
