Dear SAP Masters,

I am getting following error in sapinst.log while trying to install SAP R/3 4.7x2 dialog instance on Windows2003 x64bit with MSSQL database.

Hi,

Regarding the error MOS-01011 'C:\usr\sap\RP1\D22\exe/sapstartsrv.exe' returned with '-1'.

would you please firstly refer to the followings for this problem furtherly:

Firstly please refer to check note 142100 and ensure everything is set up as in this note.

1) Please Check the note number 142100 point number 13. If this doesn't work please check the version of SAPSTARTSRV.EXE and disp+work.exe and they should be of same patch level.

2) If point 1 doesn't work please refer to point 3 of note 142100 for the uninstall and re-install during the reinstallation when the error happened again please refer to use Service Manager and try to start the service manually then please click on "Retry" button to see if this would be helpful for this problem.

If the above still couldn't be helpful for this problem then please kindly provide sapinst.log,sapinst_dev.log ... when this problem happened. Then we would check this problem for you according

to these logs furtherly.

Its probably not a problem with sapstartsrv itself, but a problem starting the SAP instance. Try to start the system manually either through the mmc or with the startsap command. If this works you might be able to resume the installation.

If it fails you need to investigate the cause, check the database connection, the startsap logs and the files in the work dir.

Hi Michael,

I already try to start the sapstartsrv.exe manually from services.msc, and sapstart command and retry the installation but I still have the same problem.....

My investigation is why the sapinst always force to start the service by this command:

C:\usr\sap\RP1\D22\exe/sapstartsrv.exe -r -q -p
SAPR3CI1\sapmnt\RP1\SYS\profile\START_D22_SAPAPPX64 -s RP1 -n 22 -U SAPAPPX64\SAPServiceRP1 -P XXXXXX -e SAPAPPX64\rp1adm

the profile saved in the SAPR3CI1 server in shared folder \sapmnt\RP1\SYS\profile\START_D22_SAPAPPX64 and the user always pointing to my localhost user SAPAPPX64\SAPServiceRP1. I already tried to change the user using domain user but it always changed by the sapinst every time I push the "retry" button.

So, what is wrong with my sapinst (sap installer) ?

Hi,

Is this a distributed installation then?

In that case the global directory needs to be configured(as part of global host preparation) and should be accessible by users of both database host and application server host.

yes it is a distributed installation and I've done changes to the user who runs sapstartsrv service with user shared folders. But every time I press the button "retry" in the window installation still failed. And at sapinst.log still the same:

I think it's becoming the installer's nothing wrong with the sapinst, because during the installation process the installer continued sapinst always change the user that the service sapstartsrv with local user

So the problem is not resolved, and I think the sap installer with problems

There is no cluster or HA installation
