Hi,
If the customer is having a non-SAP system and vendor has SAP/APO system, can we implement APO VMI scneio? SAP documentation shows only SAP ERP & SAP APO systems for both customer & vendor.
rgds,
Vinay
Hi Vinay,
If I understand correctly, customer is on non-SAP system and Supplier is using APO system, then yes it is possible to use the APO-VMI scenario, customer needs to be created in R3 system and needs to be ciffed to APO and customer forecast can be transferred to APO using IDOC setup (EDI) then rest of the process is as usual (similar to SNP).
Thanks
Venkat

Hi Vinay,
You need to decide what level of integration you need.
For VMI scenario, you would need sales history for forecasting and orders onhand and stock on hand information for for your SNP planning.
This can be acheived by standard integration methods like EDI and IDocs. check with the VMI customer for their capabilities for EDI/IDocs.
There are standards for EDI and IDocs for sending stock/sales data (EDI 852) and for PO (EDI 855).
For IDocs you can setup IDoc Message type PROACT that deals with sales history, stock and other information.
APO can handle standard PROACT messages without any customization.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you need more information.

Hi Vinay,
Yes, its very much possible. We also have this setup where our VMI customers are maintained in our R/3 system & sent to APO through CIF.
We get relevant data for stock, sales, etc from customer's non-SAP system through an interface into APO for Demand Planning and some simple SNP Planning.
Thanks - Pawan
