Plan driven procurement scenarios difference

Hello Guys

Could you please tell me the major differences between

plan driven procurement standalone,

plan driven plant maintenance and

plant maintenance supplier integration.

I want to know the major difference between these three scenarios.

Highly appreciated if you provide some short type notes on your understanding rather than detailed SAP links.

Thanks, looking for your reply.

Hi Santhosh,

Plan driven plant maintenance refers to the scenario where MRP run generates your PR and this is PR is sent to SRM as a shopping cart in sourcing cockpit from where the purchaser can create bid invitation or assign a supplier to create a PO.

Plant maintenance supplier integration refers to the MM-SUS scenario where PO created in MM is sent to supplier who confirms the order, sends a PO response/ASN/Invoice.

Hello Santhosh,

Plan Driven Procurement with Plant Maintenance : This scenario processes requirements that have been generated in systems

other than SAP SRM. This works in Extended Classic Scenario.

Plan Driven Procurement with Supplier Integration : This scenario is used to process procurement of Direct Materials from ERP system where Supplier is also collaborating with the company using SUS. In this case ERP(MM) system is integrated with SRM-SUS system for Collaboration functions. Also Requisitions are not pushed to SRM in this case. Procurement process takes place within ERP (MM) System online.

HI Nikhil & Santhosh

First thanks for your answers.

I have a query in case of Plan driven procurement with supplier collaboration and regard to your information.

Procurement take place in SAP MM online with supplier, then what is the use of SAP SRM server plays a role here. What exactly is the collaboration refers to with SAP MM and SAP SRM.

Please elaborate.

Also, please give answers on what is plan driven procurement with standalone. This was not answered in the previous thread.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Santosh,

SUS is nothing but an SRM client. SUS runs on an SRM server only. Hence what Rahul implied by SRM-SUS is nothing but SUS system. You need an SRM licence to run SUS.

Thus the collaboration is between MM and SUS system.

Hi Santosh,

Plan driven procurement (stand alone scenario) refers to the scenario where you procure requirements that are generated in systems other than SRM system.
