Unable to connect to the MAXDB database using the DATABASE MANAGER

Hello,

I am unable to connect through MaxDB Database Manager GUI tool to the MaxDB Instance. The MaxDB instance is up and running.

When I to into click Add Servers Database Instances and -> type the Database server name and click Add, I am getting error as "-4 could not connect to socket 10060

my MAX db version is 7.9 and the database manager is 7.6

1. Is the database MAX db version i7.9 installed/updated without problems?

Post output of the commands:

sdbregview -l

dbmcli db_enum

dbmcli db_enum

2. "From database version 7.7, Database Studio replaces the database tools Database Manager GUI and SQL Studio, and it contains a GUI for the Loader database tool."

MAXDB library: http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_8/default.htm -> Tools -> Database Studio

And review "Prerequisites" section for Database Studio

3. Error 10060 : The error 10060 is the Windows Error Code:

"A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established

connection failed because connected host has failed to respond".

Please try remote login to the database server from the server, where the DBMGUI installed, test ping to the DB server.

Hi,

Could you check whether your xserver is running ? Start it and then try again it should work.
