Hi,
you can prepare devices before the first sync and run auto extract job to have data ready when users do first logon. If you do this, you should be able to life without any changes of default settings. If you like increate the number - but cause the users will not really logon at same time, the default setting should be fine.
Switch data objects to synchronous processing as well, so you have data already in relevant outbox once it reaches MI server.
