Error 503: Service Unavailable

One of my partner has NW 2004 SP16 installed.

He can access the home page for the installation with URL like this:

http://localhost:50000

But he has errors with access to system information and the irj. The system just tells him "503 Service Unavailable". And details is: You have requested an application that is currently stopped.

- In the Visual Administrator, navigate to the "SAP XI AF Messaging" service and increase the value of the "pollAttempts" parameter to 100 in the "messaging.connections" property. Do this for all affected connections (AFW, MPA, JPR, RNIFAdapter, CIDXAdapter, BcAdapter). Restart the SAP XI AF Messaging Service and send the message again. Check that all adapter services are started. If required, increase the number of application threads

Hi,

Go to the URL and then click on system information. Inside that see what components are installed.

If portal is there, then via visual admin check if all the services are up. You can manually get them up over here. Or else you can login via telnet and there are a set of commands you need to run to get the services up.

That's all you need to do. It will definately solve your problem.

Reward with good points and keep getting your problems solved. This is the sdn forum objective.

Hi Poseidon,

That means that not all J2EE services are running, you can check in the MMC if all the services are up and running, check the DB, also try http://<fullqualifieddomainname>:50000/irj/portal

Also check the logs to see if the engine find any problems starting a service, look for errors at std_server0.out and std_dispatcher.out

Hope this help!

Hi,

The correct URL is:

http://<server-name>:50000/irj/portal

If u continue to get error, see if the server has been really started. See the status, if it is green in color.

regds,
