Installation of NW CE 7.11 error "Oracle Software not installed"

Hi,

I am trying to install NW CE 7.1 EHP1 Java Server on Windows 2008 R2 and Oracle 11.2.0.2.

Oracle Installation with Patches (Coll 14 and all available patches) successful.

ORACLE_HOME is D:oracleXTF11202

NW installation failed with error:

sap oracle software not installed. install oracle software before continuing

Looking into the log files seem to indicate that sapinst is checking for a different ORACLE_HOME:

NWBora.isValidDbHome(start): 112 undefined

NWDBora.isValidDbHome() ORACLE_HOME already set: D:oracleXTF112

...

ORACLE_HOME dump:{ ORACLE_HOME:D:oracleXTF112

...

WARNING: file not found: D:oracleXTF112 insqlplus.exe

Installation is based on DVD for Ora Client 10.2.0.4 as sapinst will not accept a ora 11 client DVD.

Is it possible to install NW 711 on Oracle 11.2.0.2 or have this to be installed on Ora 11.2 or 10.2 first?

SAPINST stoped with error:

Hi,

Check SAP note 1524205.

From Oracle 11.x on you always install full versions in "new Oracle homes" and link those to the actual ORACLE_HOME of the instance. Create a soft link from /oracle/<SID>/11202 to /oracle/<SID>/112 and retry.

have created a symbolic link using mklink .... 112 <<===>> ....11202

and it works!
