SAP PI to Data Services (BO)

Hi,

We have an existing interface in R/3 which directly communicates to Data services via idoc.

We are trying to bring in PI to be used as ESB into the landscape.

Can PI connect to Data services via Idocs?

What config would I be required to do on R/3 and PI side.

We are thinking of using PI 7.3.

can you ellaborate more on the data services?

What kind of protocol does it support? Is it DB connections or FTP based?

Accordingly you can choose the required adapter in PI for transmitting the messages.

It is BODI. Currently they are receving the data from R/3 via idocs.

So can we bring PI into the middle and send it to BODI via the same idoc-xml format.

u mean BODI (BusinessObjects Data Integrator) its an SAP BODS right??

if iam correct then you can connect SAP PI to SAP BODS

go ahead with PI.

PI can always send the IDocs to BO

Hi,

I just dig around a bit and foiund the following.

R/3 sends idoc to BODS via TCP/IP connection.

When i went through the RFC destination, it does use the following

ProgramID

Gatewayhost

GatewayService.

Interesting Gatewayhost points to same R/3 system.

I am a bit confused as it is using logical system and tcp/ip, it should be having the gatewayhost of BODS rather than R/3
