SDM will not start when mode is "standalone"

SolMan 7.1, Windows 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008

I'm attempting to deploy the SCA files that came with the SPS03 on the install kit. The SDM is running OK in integrated mode, and I can stop and start the SDM via the Windows MMC or the command line.

However, after I change the mode to "standalone", I cannot get the SDM to start

Logs follow in subsequent posts to this thread.

NOTE Despite what it says in the log and at the end of the command output, when the Operationmode for JStartupFramework is set to "standalone"...

There is no Return Code line

The StartServer command does not complete, and

the SDM is not available,

The dev_sdm and std.sdm files only contain information from when SDM is running, in integrated mode.

Any information or suggestions will be greatfully received.

In standalone mode you don't need to start SDM.

I don't know why you need SDM in standalone mode anyway, but if you want to deploy throught the command line, just run the commands without trying to start SDM:

for example, run

sdm.bat deploy file=xxxxx updateversions=all

No need to manually start/stop SDM.

The problem is that, despite what the logs report, the StartServer.bat command does not complete, and the SDM does not start, when I have set "mode=standalone".

You need to have the SDM in standalone mode to do anything outside the JSPM framework. I couldn't remember the exact error message you get when you try to deploy with //mode=integrated//, so I ran one
