Although this can be done, I wouldn't recommend it with your current resources.

Basic steps:

Download and Install VMware host application (i.e., Player / Workstation)

Create Virtual Machine

Install Operating System on Virtual Machine

Install SAP Instance and DB on Virtual Machine

(Get upset because you don't have the resources to handle the SAP Instance on your machine via the VM)

Hello pranendu,

I do not understand the question. Is your VMware instance already running? After you have logged on to it the installation isn't different than installing to a plain Windows/Linux/... system, you just follow the SAP installation guide and the SAP software won't recognize it is being installed into a virtualized environment.

Then I suggest you contact VMWare or read their manuals on their website.

And just to add: VMWare you install on top of Windows 7 is not suited for a SAP system. Technically it may work but it will be dead slow. SAP systems are not meant to be installed on PCs or Laptops.

I just read your post and thought you do need this virtual machine even the memory 4G is a little small(8G would be much better) Here's the steps to install the OS and SAP on a VMWARE.

1. Install VMWARE into you win7 system;

2. Run VMWARE and make a new VM(virtual machine);

3. Install windows system on this VM by using DVD or ISO file;

4. Make a shared folder with the VM in your win7 system(this step is the most important in doing the task);

5. Copy all files needed to install on the VM to this shared folder;

6. Use these files and follow all procedures that you had done on your win7 system where you installed the SAP system on.

That's the key steps for your task. Any further detail or sub-steps, please refer to VMWARE or windows help or let me know.
