Purchasing group determination in Shopping cart

Hi All,

when I am creating Shopping cart and choose Free Text Describe what you want and then I find that Purchasing group filed at item data tab is not available.

But when I am selecting select goods/service and choose Product Id then shopping cart is determining back end purchasing group and purchasing group field is shown at Item data tab.

why SC is not showing Purchasing group field for free text items.

Can any one has this similar issue in your system.

I am on SRM7.01 Extended classic scenario.

Hi

Please check:

1> Have you defined specific product category in Responsibility tab in org structure?

2> Have you defined attribute PM Purchasing Group in attributes?

P.S. You must define prod cat in Responsibility tab; it will reflect in SC.

Hi ,

I have kept all you have mentioned. But still it is not showing purchasing group for free text items.

I have created local purchaing group , then for free text item it is picking purchasing group.

But it is not picking any Back end purchaisng group.

Hi Nikhil,

If I choose the one material for the same product category in SC , it is picking back end purchasing group.

But If i am choosing free text item and selects the same product category , Purchasing group field, it self is not showing in SC.

I wonder, if I create a Local purchase group, and create a free Text SC for the same product categoy, it is picking local Purchaing group.

Are you determining the purchasing group via BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI? If so, note 1619910 can help you.

Can you help me how to identify why it is not picking Purchasing group by debugging.

Hi Abdul,

we are facing the same issue with SRM7.01. Could you please let us know in which part of the customizing you made changes? "product category" path ...

Hi,

Issue is resolved when change settings in SPRO

DEFINE BACKEND PRODUCT CATEGORY-->As I am taking back end product category -->mention Target and source systems are backend systems.

Hi Abdul,

Purchasing group will be shown even for free text SC provided the responsibilty of the product category chosen in free text SC resides with the purchasing group. Remember purchasing group has organisational as well as product category responsibility.
