Add branch option grayed out in validation tab

I have been trying to add a branch to a validation but the option is grayed out.

what might be the reason for that

You may not have taxonomy loookup field for branching. let us know your findings.

I created a Taxanomy field and it worked fine, so does this Add branch works only on Taxanomy?
