Can anybody explain me what is institutional sales & its config steps in sap sd ?

Hi,

Sales to any kind of institution is called as institutional sales.

Now the institution depends on the kind of business your client does. If it is a food industry, then institutions could be hotels, canteens, etc that buy your food prods to prepare their food.

If it is a pharma industry, then hospitals, clinics that consume your medicines are called as institutes; etc.

For Institutional sales usually a new Distribution channel is defined. Main purpose of this would be for easy reporting and tracking. No need to define a new sales order type. Pricing procedure depends on the pricing elements you have. Mostly, it may not require a new pricing unless you have a very diverse business scenario.

Please search in internet with search term what is institutional sales ?

and it is defined as a distribution channel in SAP like retail,wholesale.

Based on this distribution channel we can have different pricing and reports etc.......

Dear Chowdary P,

As explained in the previous posts instituational sales is ' sales to institutions' like hospital / govt offices/ etc.

In SAP , there is not particular configuration setting which comes different for Institutional sales.

It is same as normal sales.

However, you have to use a new distribution channel for institutional sales.

Possbily a New Sales order type also for such sales.

Then depending upon your client requirement, there will be some additional discounts which will be applicable for these type of institutional sales, which can be handled by maintianing condtion record on the basis of sales order type or dist channel.
