No objects waiting for generation could be found in SGEN after sp upgrade

Hi All,

We have upgrade SAP HR package SAP_HR : SAPKE60441 ,SAP_HR : SAPKE60442 ,EA-HR : SAPK-60519INEAHR

Then we executed SGEN by selection option after upgrade but it gives message as "No objects waiting for generation could be found"

Then we tried to executed SGEN with the first option that is generate load for all object in this component but again got the same message.

Can someone help in this. How to solve the problem.

Hi,

Probably there are no objects for which sgen run is required. You can go ahead and release the system.

During the import of support packages , there is a step for ABAP generation(which you can view using report RSSPAM10), which creates the runtime objects for the repository objects imported. Hence , there is no requirement to Run SGEN and SGEN also should not show any object for generation . SGEN needs to be run only after an OS change is being done duirng a system copy or after a new installation .

- Did you choose only SAP_HR and EA-HR with fist option as well?

Looks like the objects imported by SAPKE60441, SAPKE60442 , SAPK-60519INEAHR are not qualified for ABAP generation SGEN at this moment.

So you don't need to worry.

Dear Deepak,

Please note that SGEN is used for generating the ABAP loads of a number of programs, function groups, classes, and so on, as well as Business Server Page applications (BSP applications). If a support package does not contain this kind of object, SGEN can do nothing with them. In fact these are EH-HR sub-components and do not contain objects that can be generated by SGEN.The same is true for component SAP_HR and its sub-components SAP_HRxxxx. In SGEN you don't need to select the components EA-HRxxxx and SAP_HRxxxx.

You can check object list of support package from service marketplace.
